i have a 99 ford ranger not an extended cab so space is very limited i have been thinking about building my own truck box to try and make it slimmer behind a seat any ideas on how to squeeze that in would help me alot i have a sub and amp so im set on that thanks
Well...you'll have to build around your sub. What size is it? Hopefully a 10". I can give you some dimensions for a box I built that fit nicely behind the seat in my truck and I didn't have to give up practically any room, important for my 6'1" frame.
What sub and amp do you have?
Something cool I like, I would reccomend this for your Ranger (that's what I have too, a reg cab Ranger). Build and cover a box behind the driver's seat, basically continue the form of the indent on the floor all the way to where the rear wall comes out. The peice of MDF you use for the rear of the box, build futher out to the center of the truck and mount your amp on it. If it's all covered it looks perfectly stock, except for the amp obviously...
i have a 12'' rockford punch and my amp is an alpine they both rms at 200 watts and the peak for my amp is 500 or so not sure but do you think i could just cut a bigger hole and fit a 12 in the box you made?
My box is too small for that mounting depth. Not by much, you might be able to build to fit. That's the beauty of doing it yourself. I'll get some pics and post them later tonight.
