Stay with what ford recommends, you can't go wrong.

For my 06 5.4 they recommend Motorcraft 5W20 7 quarts, semi synthetic.

I agree! The motorcraft 5w-20 synthetic blend is a great oil. If you change it every 3k-5k miles I'm totally convenced your wasting your money on anything else (ie full synthetic). Check out www.bobistheoilguy.com

Thumbs up 5.4 L oil recommendation

Ford's 5w20 semi- synthetic motor oil flows well during extreme temperature changes and has anti-foaming and other additives in it. Good idea to stick with it.

Is the only place to get the Motorcraft Oil at a dealer?

I get mine at Autozone. Get one of the little baskets by the door if you aren't going to get a whole case. 7 bottles makes for an arm load.

I get mine at Walmart.

It's about $1.70 a quart.

I've payed attention to who has the best prices on Motorcraft oil in my town. Wal-Mart in my town has it for $2.07/quart. Other places usually are selling it for $2.32 to $2.39 quart.

if they don't have the oil , they sell at least 6 other oils which meet the same tough ford 929a specs. can't go wrong with any of them.
