Appreciate your advice. Have a '90 E350,460V8, small RV. Batteries were going dead. Mechanic replaced the alternator and the solenoid which allows the coach battery to charge. Now, a week later the coach battery is not getting juice. Could the new solenoid be defective and how do you check it? Have test lights but need guidance. Looks like a Chevy starter solenoid but is supposed to be made for continuous duty. thanks,
Yes, we understand how to check the battery to see if it is receiving a charge. It is not. Need to know how to check the solenoid to see if it is working or if some other gremlin is at work. thanks,

Sounds like the Black/Orange wire coming from the Alternator was put on the wrong side of the Starter Relay. It needs to go on the same side as the big cable coming from the battery to the Relay. Also all other small wires that go to the Starter Relay go on the battery side of the Relay. The only wire on the other side of the Relay is the large Black wire going to the Starter. There is also a small Red/Lt Blue wire that goes to a screw on the Starter Relay by itself to activate it.
