3g wiring question

3g wiring question
I've started installing my 3g alternator on my 81 Bronco most of the wiring is pretty straight forward. I noticed though that on my old charge wire (upgrading to 4gage) it is spliced onto a yellow wire that runs to the male end of that round plug located on the inner fender is this a connection that I will still need? Also are there any other wire's from that plug that I will need to be concerned about?
