I have a AODE from a '94 F150 w/302 with some issues. It was fully rebuilt 20k miles ago with the '95/'96 upgrades. The selector cable casing broke on me a few months ago. I put a piece of ruber line over it and put 4 clamps on it. Its held fine and I have had no issues, untill recently.
When I accelerate hard, from a stop, it feels like a clutch slipping and it then grabs hard. 1st to 2nd shifts often slam. Overdrive is a little more touchy and takes a few seconds longer to engage.
This question probably has an obvious answer. Could it be the manual selector sensor on the side of the tranny is giving bad readings? Maybe the screwed up cable doesn't position it in exactly the right spot?
I have no codes being displayed at this time. The tranny fluid is still clean and looks like new with no burned smell. It was replaced about 10k miles, and 1 year ago because the truck sat for a couple years.
