Hi there
I have just bought a 56 f100 that needs a lot of work, and I have some mad ideas for it. So, no doubt I will be visiting the site regularly and look forward to getting to know some of you.

Hey, welcome to the site.
I have a 57 F-250 that isn't in too bad of shape actually but i'm putting a new engine/tranny in it this summer. Best place to be is the 1948-1960 forum, they will be able to answer all of your questions. This is a very knowledgeable site.
Hope the 56 F-100 that you has comes along, they're a nice looking truck.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm still waiting to ship the truck here to the UK. I'm a total speed freak so want to make it handle and perform as well as possible. My inspiration is the '53 Ford racing built a few years ago. I don't know if anybody has tried to do anything simillar without Ford's budget.

Your welcome, now along with the speed freak part, just drive safe and don't get hurt. There are a few of us on there that well a lot of us that have had near death experiences and wonder how we are still here to talk about it. I'm not sure if anyone has done anything like that. I live in Shropshire. I won't have the truck over here for a little while. It is a project truck that just about runs. I have been assured it is solid as it has been in the Californian desert for the last 30 years. Needs a lot of work though. My friend over there is going to hang onto it for a bit while we accumulate parts for that and my other cars to be shipped all together. As soon as it is here I'll post my progress. I'll set up a gallery of the pictures I've been sent of it shortly.
