i gotta 1990 Ford Bronco and about 4 months ago i bought some American racing wheels offset and put the stock size tire on them cuz i couldnt afford bigger ones i dont know exact dimmentions either does my dad but 15"x8" or 8.5" and what im looking for is not a huge life sometihng under 4"s and big enough tires to stick out past and out of the wheel well if possible and where the body isnt that far from the tires either i want them snugged up toward the body i dont know if anyone knows what im shooting for if u have an idea of what im talking about leave your two cents for me thanks everyone so far this site is very informal for a teen just learning...I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT VEHICLES!!
okay this guy off of this site in his description says he just put 33" tires on it and say nothing about a lift...that is the look im going for right there where the tires stick out a little bit past the body and are taking up a lot of the wheel well but still have the truck be functional anymore input on this?
Personally I think that is too much tire. I like the look of a 32" on a stock truck. But that is MY opinion. I have 33 x 12.50 on 15 x 8 rims with a 3" bodylift. The tires don't stick out past the body but do come to the edge. It is you rmoney do what YOU like. But (there is always a but) I checked your gallery and noticed you live where it snows (and when it melts mud). Sounds like some playtime. I think you will have issues if you do too much 4x4ing. 33" on a stock truck will rub somewhere at sometime causing a bent bumper, bent fender, and maybe a ripped tire from bending your fender.
33's work just fine with no lift. That pic is exactly how my 87 looks. It will rub at full turn, and I lost 2mpg, but other than that I love the 33's on my Bronc..

Did you notice much of a reduction in "off the line" performance with the 33's......or did you re-gear it?
I would also check state laws about tires sticking out passed the wheel well. Here in NJ, if the tire sticks out there must be fender flares to cover them.
I have not re-geared it. I really haven't noticed any power loos, but I do not "get down" on my Bronco either. It is still new to me and I haven't worked through all the kinks just yet. I have towed 4-wheeler and golf cart behind it and didn't notice anything different. Your terrain may be different than mine though. I live on pretty much flat land.
Just read above post. Man have y'all got some screwy laws up there..
Well no matter what when you increase the tire size like that, you also increase your final drive ratio......so now your speedo is off (that can be corrected with a different color speedo drive gear...on your year), and you will decrease your off the line performance.....it has nothing to do with beating on the truck, but everything to do with daily driving.
1990fordbronc......if you want them "snugged up toward the body" just go bigger.....if you want them to stick out past the wheel well use a different offset or a spacer...?????
man u guys i like all the ideas cuz now i can kinda base my final thoughts after thinking about everying so can i use a spacer plus a bigger tire and also too, can i get a 2" front suspension lift just to level the truck out? keep the ideas and info coming im learning a lot here thanks everyone!
Here's mine.
3" Susp. lift.
American Racing rims.I believe a 2-2.5" back-spacing.
33x12.5 BFG's.
Never had a rub problem and did not re-gear.Also no problems.
Steve
Sudsrat man that is EXACTLY what im going for!!! holy crap so how did u do ur suspension? did u level the truck out? and what did u mean by 2-2.5" back spacing? man its perfect let me no bro.
Sudsrat, yours looks just likd\e mine, I got the same soft top, same lift, same tires, When I bought it I had/have the same rack on the top, ( I took it off so it would fit in my garage) but, what the heck is that square thing in the front of your grill. Your truck looks great!!
