I have an 88 F150 L6 4.9L 4x4. I have a 3"inch body lift on it now and I have a 6"suspension lift I need to put on. I just need some basic tips and help with this matter. I also wanted to put on 38x15.5x15 or 38x12.5x15 which would you suggest. How much modifying would I have to do to get my truck to stay running? Would I lose alot of power? What brand of tires do you suggest I looked at getting super swampers TSL or TSL Bogger. I would use this truck for daily driving. Any help is appreciated.
i would go with the narrower tire on those half ton axles...wide tires give balljoints and bearings hell...since its a dd, your going to want to regear it to AT LEAST 4.56, because you will lose alot o power
I really doubt you will find a ford 8.8 or TTB 44 with 4.56 gears at the boneyard. If you are set on running 38s you will have no power with your stock gearing. Also if you wheel this thing hard, there is a great chance you will be breakin stuff, I would do a SAS, as the TTB and alignment will be a problem as well.

puttin on the lift with the ttb, twin tortion bar, is not to bad done a couple , the rear is easy as hell, the front is a little harder, there is some drilling needed, if you go on the street alot i think the thornbirds are good the outside lugs dont hit the street, they are made by super swamper, but you will need to regear, at least 456, for the milage if you dont want to lose it id go with 488s, did your lift come with new radius arms, it will be easier if so
