i know this is fte but i have a pre-ford mazda question. i have a 91 maz b2600i that has been lowered 3 inches in front via torsion bars and 3 inches in rear via steel lowering blocks. its been like this for 4 years now. i recently changed the tranny filter and gasket (my 1st time ever) well now the truck gets a nasty vibration every once in a while. very violent shakes everything to hell. seems like a driveline vibe. any ideas? the u-joints have never been changed and i know the tranny mount is shot to. i will prolly change the u-joints and mount neways. but i still wonder if that will cure it

The vibration started as soon as you changed the tranny filter? I don't know anything about those Mazdas so forgive my questions here but did you have to drop the driveline to do the tranny mantainance? If you did, and it got seperated at the slip joint it could be that the yokes are not in phase. If you didn't drop the driveline then ignore that.
If a u-joint is going out you should be able to actually feel it if you jack the truck up and wiggle/twist the shaft back and forth. Incorrect angles can also cause this but it wouldn't make sense that it would start out of the blue when the truck has been lowered for 4 years.
i didnt have to mess with the driveline at all. just drop the pan pretty easy. i will put the truck on the lift and see if i can wiggle the drive shaft. are u joints normal wearable items? the truck does have 180000 on it and the u joints are cheap enough. thanks for the help
Yes, u-joints are normal wear items and they're inexpensive too so it's no biggie if they need replacing. I would recommend if you find 1 bad u-joint that you just replace them both while you're at it.
