P 1450 Engine Code

P 1450 Engine Code
My 99 Ranger has shown a P 1450 engine code described as "emission controls" Found a link here to see what the code was. "Unable to bleed up fuel tank vaccum". Has a list of items from EVAP Canister, CV solenoid, EVAP purge valve, FTP sensor and fuel filler cap. Has anyone experienced this before and where would be the most likely place to start looking or changing parts?

Welcome to FTE!
I would start by making sure that your gas cap is on correctly. Also check the rubber seal that is around the ring of the gas cap to make sure it still looks good.

Intermentant Problem
That could explain why it's reoccured, but with a good span of 600 to 1000 miles. Thought it was my extended run of synthetic oil. It's seems to come on when i get over 3500 miles so i clear it and change the oil. But this didn't wait as long and after i cleared it, it didn't reappear after the computer had gotten 75 or 100 miles of info either. Dealer said it had to do with some VCM Valve but the were 10 other items to check in the system. Will start at the fuel cap (being its cheap) and research a little more into the system for the future. Thanks for the info Jim. Semper Fi
