Yes, well, I've learned try it on before ya spend the money. Plus, you get to fit right in with your wife/gf in making fun of the fit of the clothes. Well, at least me and my gf have humors like that, guess it all just depends.
i usally walk into farm and fleet or walmart or any other place. grab a pair of levis 38x34, the loose ones that are half faided to begin with, not the perfect fit but once the backs of them get walked on enough they frey out. if i want a shirt i throw one over the shirt im already wearing, i like them to fit loose. also love grabing the jumbo bag of like 300 tube socks. never going shoping with the girlfriend or mom again they seem to enjoy dressing me like a damn ken doll, man i dont do buttons or the poped collor pink shirts

Reason: that all the modern homos are wearing
My wife has bought me my last 10 pair of pants, not even sure how many shirts, and underwear. I don't even know what my size is , off the top of my head, except the XL t-shirts I buy for truck clubs.
Does this make me a real man? I dunno, it's just that the wife can't take the bitching I do about shopping. For anything. I hate shopping.
I stopped buying clothes that were too large because I kept always subconsciously "growing in to them". If my clothes are naggingly tight, I seem to be able to adjust my diet enough to fit in to them.
I don't know, I've got a couple of suits, a collection of slacks, and some "good" tshirts and long-sleeve shirts. I usually buy a lot of cheapo stuff for around the house, which rotates down to the car work collection, which rotates down to the rag bag, which eventually either dissolves back in to the earth, or is (rarely) thrown away.
I shur made some friends today here. Had some software people up driving a pretty new 7-Series wearing the Armani thing (Florida plates, better yet). I told 'em they'd better not get pulled over in our town- the only people who dress like that and drive a car like that are either bad guys or drug dealers- and the cops will take their time trying to figure out which one it was.
Nope, I sure dont, I just buy one style of jeans, and the size stays the same because I only buy Levis 501 jeans, same 27x30 jeans every time, same small shirts, and I'm good. gonna be that way probably for a good 20 years for me.
i have no sense of style, and my girlfriend told me i'm not allowed to shop for myself. so she picks it out, its looks good on me, and all i gotta do is wear it works for me. juckily, 32x36's are easy to find (gotta love wranglers), and a medium/large shirt usually fits good (unless its a long sleeve, then it becomes tricky...sleeves usually end up short. at least a 36 1/2 for me...)
boots, thats MY department. i pick 'em and try 'em on. boots are my thing. too bad i don't have more cash laying around for more styles...gotta love full-quill ostritch.
Over thirty years, my 501's have gone from 32/30 to 36/30, no problem there.
Shirts seem to be a problem for me. Generally I will grab a 17-34, but some brands don't seem to use the same measuring system. The often seem to be made for someone with a 50 inch waist but they are too short to stay tucked. I have been getting some from Cabellas that I can order in 'tall' which gives the long waist I seem to need. The other thing is the wrists are usually tight. I don't think my wrists are all that big, but I have to get the buttons moved to the edge so I can wear my watch.
