E3 Spark Plugs?

I'm thinking about getting new spark plugs for my Bronco 2, and i was thinking about getting the E3 spark plugs and I just wondered if they really are as good as they're supposed to be and if they do save gas.
Any advice on spark plugs in general or on E3s would be great.
thanks
josh

Stay with the recommended Motorcraft spark plugs. Any after market plug (E3, Splitfire, etc.) that claim more power and/or gas mileage is a SCAM!!!

the E3 plugs are the most current scam out there. they want 5.00 a pop here. i can get iridium plugs for 6.00. you only need a copper plug at most and maybe a platinum if you don't want to change them for 25k.

You can do a search. There was a thread on this not long ago. They are a scam. Stay with Motorcraft.

First off, a spark plug doesn't "burn". It's role in life is to create an electrical
arc, referred to as a "spark". If this spark doesn't happen, this is called a mis-fire. So, the spark either happens, or it doesn't happen, very simple. This is
why the E3s, and Splitfires, etc., are SCAMs, claiming more HP, or MPG.

A good rule of thumb is: when looking at aftermarket parts that offer eye-popping claims, ask yourself why the manufacturer didn't install it himself. After all, carmakers are busting themselves in two, trying to meet CAFE, offer more power, and so on. If they could dramatically improve mileage with a $5 retail spark plug, wouldn't you imagine that they'd do so?

Similar arguments can be applied to other aftermarket stuff, including K&N air filters and many exhaust systems. The carmaker spent millions matching all the components to work together; it's pretty unlikely that you can effect a change (legally) with a single add-on.

Save your money, and use it for something more fun, like a better sound system.
