Avatar Help?

Hey Matt, do I need any special access to set up an Avatar? Can't seem to get it to work.
I posted here , rather than a PM so others might use the info.

Thanx,
Frank

Click USER CP. Then on the left hand side click Edit Avatar. Then upload the picture from your computer. It has to be 60 X 60 (pixels) or 8.0 KB (whichever is smaller). If the picture is too big then you can send it to me through email (click my username then send email and I will email you back and you will have my email address) and I can resize it for you.

I tried that several times but it would not accept the image, said it was too large. It is not.
I then tried posting the jpeg in my gallery and pointing to but that didn't work either.

???

For the pic that you want an an avatar use the *forum codes* link and copy/paste the thumbnail image (the bottom one)

Make sure you remove the http:// in the avatar window ....then the [img] [/img]code before clicking the custom avatar box & "updating the avatar" button.

Thumbs up Got it!

Couldn't get this to work from my home computer, but from work I had no problems. I will have to check my settings or the way the application I used to resize the pic reports size.

Anyway, now that it's done, I'm not sure I like it.
Can you tell what it is??

Thanx,
Frank

Glad you got it Frank. It looks like a hood emblem on an older truck or possibly an upside down rearview mirror?

If you are looking for something specific let me know. I could probably find something for you.

Yes, it's my hood ornament!!
Well at least it's recognizable. Now I can play with the feature and see if I can find something better.

Aha! See, it's not that bad. But don't use that avatar on a computer forum, for instance. They will wonder what the heck it is! Glad you got it figured out.

It is an Explorer hood ornament.

I have some great avatars.

Some are on this page.

http://www.clubfte.com/users/mil1ion...verything.html

Just Right click the mouse on the image and copy image to get one.

Some Ford related.
Send me an e-mail if you have any specific things you are looking for.
