what kind of longivity could a person expect from buying an aluminized exhaust system? live in okla. where they pretty much dont use salt for de-icing any more. my stock system sucks, watching my egt's skyrocket with empty load running predator on 60hp economy. wanting to go with cool duals but as you know the s.s. is pricey. if i could expect several years then will get them. if you all that have aluminized system let me know what kind of longivity you get, please let me know. thanks to all in advance. oh, tried the BTM but my EGT's still get out of hand at take-off
I have had the MBRP aluminized exhaust on my truck going on 2 years now, and have yet to see a spot of rust. I live in Utah where we do use quite a bit of salt in winter. Most important part of keeping an aluminized exhaust in good shape is by keeping it clean. I am satisfied with the quality of the MBRP.
Yea I've had my aluminized exhaust on my truck for... hmm almost 3 years now I think, and (well part of it anyway - I cut half of it off back when I did my stacks..), mine doesn't really look any different than when I put it on. Pretty much the same as BadFord99 - no rust spots that I have seen.
I ran a flowmaster almuninized on my old Ram for 4 years and it didnt have any rust on it when I sold it this last summer. Thats 4 winters here in Kansas and we get lots of salt on the roads in the winter.
