The 351W in my 55 panel is running on 7 cylinders. The electricals and the valve areas are fine, so I figure something internal must be wrong. The engine, from a 78 van, has seen its better days, I guess.
The C6 trans from that 78 van has been rebuilt, and I would like to continue to use it.
My question is:
Does anyone know of what will bolt up to that C6? Maybe a website with that info?
It is easier for me to find a 302 if I can't find another 351W, if I had to.
I think they made two versions of that trans one for the small block and one for the big block. My first truck had the 351W/C6 (trans was from a van). This one has a 351W/AOD.
This 351W did the same thing #1 cyl just stopped firing, never did figure that one out.
I had it rebuid and some day I plan on driving it again (this spring I hope).
Thanks for the info; I didn't realize the same C6 fit all those.
The reason I didn't realize it is that, when I had one rebuilt to mate up with a 390 from a '68 Galaxy, the holes didn't line up. I luckily had the original trans from that 390, so the shop switched the innards.
