I am planning on getting an edelbrock qjet carb and maybe a performer manifold for my 79 150 4x4 xlt. What does the egr manifold have that the non egr doesnt? Will my stock air cleaner work with the new carb? If I remove my emissions system or get the carb and manifold will things like cruise and ac still work? And What vacuum stuff do I need still hooked up like to have things work? What is a good size for 2barrel on my 351m with c6 i drive everyday with hillclimbing and off roading. Also does my truck have electric or manual choke? Thanks for any info.

take off the air cleaner and look on the passanger side of
the carb, if there's and electric wire going to the choke, you
got electric. The performer 400 Edelbrock is the choice to
make, and if you still want to use the EGR stuff, just use
the excisting unit from your car. The qjet also needs the
linkage kit for a Ford.
I am making some of the same changes to my 351m
Edelbrock intake ( performer 400 non egr) these are
square bore by the way, a holley is just as good, but
I have read where the qjet can get better mpg.
Also do not forget a new cam.
I just bought a Mallory Hyfire VIa $119.00 which will help
the spark and give better performance, increase plug cap
long spark, more fuel burned.
For me I will buying the intake and carb at one of the
swap meets in my area dealing with cars, either Pamona, or
Long Beach, as these items are external to the engine, and
a carb can be rebuilt, but when it comes to anything internal
I would tend to go with new, as once there in, its a big job
getting them out.
