One month ago I replaced both batteries. Last night I had a battery Light on and replaced the alternator this morning. I started the truck everything fine ( no warning lights)and let it idle for about 15 minutes while I washed up to go to work. About 1 mile from home the truck lost power and won't restart. Cranks fine, just won't run. I disconnected/reconnected the batteries and got the same results. Also drained the fuel bowl once again, won't start. Any insights would greatly appreciated.

As it's cranking over do u see the tach move. Might be your CPS.

I went back to the side of the road to answer PSNuts question about the Tach and the Tach did move----because the truck started!!! Is the Cam Positioning Sensor likely to be intermittent like this? The truck is back at home now.
yes it can act up for a short time, and then start (like what happened to you) or not work. they are very finicky, and you could not see a problem with it for the rest of the truck's life. it could go out in 5 miles, 50 miles, 500 miles, etc. it has a mind of it's own. i would recommend picking up another CPS, installing it, and keeping the stock as a spare in the glovebox so you wont be stranded again.
dont go with another stock CPS, upgrade to a DT466 CPS. search this forum for "IHC Blue CPS", a thread that was posted to recently. a bit of good reading for the CPS-newbie.
strokin_it7.3-- I did just that. I found pics and a dealer that is open until 11pm. Thanks to you, PSNut and Kwikordead for your help. I'm confident that this is the fix I was looking for. The beer is on me!!
