I have a 76 F150, about a year ago rebuilt the 9inch and installed new wheel bearings and axle seals. Now the new seals are leaking.I checked the vent and its ok. Also I have the puller to remove the wheel bearings, but can't find anyone who sells just the retainers. Help
You have the oil just to the bottom of the filler hole? When the truck is level it should come to the edge of the opening or if you poke the first crook of your little finger in the hole, touch it, (not pouring out).

In the cool still quiet of night you can hear chevies rusting away.
Yep just to the bottom of the hole, just like I've kept it since 76. The seals I bought seemed to be good quality. I pulled one axle thinking I might have rolled the lip back on installation but everything appears to be correct
