HI there, walking through my local salvage yard i found a older(mid 60's id say) f250 tucked away in a corner. Looks to be a Y block,i couldnt find any stickers on it and the door tag was missing. Any idea on what size engine this Y block would be?
1964 was the last year and a 292 was the only Y. However anything from a 239 to a 312 could be in it by now.
A forum member found a 239 in his 64 and I scored a 312 in a 62 F250
Have been working on a Y block---#EDB 8015E <----on the block can ya help me out thanx ern
Hey there, and welcome to the FTE boards.
That's a great engine block. It's probably got thick cylinder walls that can be bored way out to 3.86 and beyond. It's probaby got the beefed main webs, too. And it probably came with some killer heads like the ECZ-G posted, or 113.
