Yep the V10's are great!
I took my neighbor to the store yesterday and mashed the go pedal,,, he looked at me and said Holy S%#$ this truck has some big *****,, I just looked at him and gave him a BSEG!
Tim
Ahhhhh, just a simple goofy stare and then a point to the front fender. If that doesn't work, they are probably too stupid to bother wasting time on.
people are usualy stareing and pointing at any way, when i first got mine one of or local fireman was pointing and asking, went for a drive with him driving. his chevy is no more.
cops same thing take them for a drive, they say how don started this thread, dual personality motor. drive with a egg under the go fast pedal it's so smooth, but don't mash that baby .then all hell breaks loose.
i do have one small problem. and thats for some reason my rear tires don't seem to be lasting to well. DAH!
thanks Don.
I tried my hardest to get next to a 5.0 Mustang the other day with my 99 V10, 4.30 rear end. But Chevys kept getting in the way. Do you think I could have taken him off the light? (and to Infinity and Beyond!)

Yeah, I don't know if it's me or the truck. I think it's a combination of big truck in Alabama, NY tags, Georgia insurance, and the guy driving it has a NY, NC, GA, AL, TX accent.
i think youd better get ny insurance, at least that would match up if stopped. the accent a ny cop might think your arab.and try locking you up.
really the accent's some of us pick up. i used to sound jamacain when i had the rig from a island man codriver, what a ball we had together though. except one time in 1980 sitting in yakama WA. when st. helens blew it's lid. and that he and i still joke about today.
Yesterday on my short 10 mile commute, I had it demonstrated to me how the V10 has this Dr.Jeckyl and Mr Hyde personality.
As I left my subdivision to pull on to the back road I drive out to work on , I pulled out behind a school bus and I had to follow him almost all the way to work. My truck never went over 1800 RPM as we did 40 MPH on this windy road. There are a few hills but the truck never shifted down, just an uncanny smooth , quiet ride like you would expect from a big luxury sedan.
Then I got lucky and at the last intersection before I got to work , the bus turned right and I was turning left which is a slight grade. I hit the T/H button ...........................
waited until the truck was rolling staight and nailed it. The back end breaks loose and the angry GIANT RICER growl starts building and from 4000 to 5000 RPM, the sound is very neat.
So here this gentle engine that was behaving like a Debutante sipping Napolean Brandy without getting her lips wet ......... it turns into an angry logger guzzling a pint down getting ready to kick ***.
I thought to myself, gee at almost 4 bucks a gal. for gas, this little run probably cost me 50 cents.
Then it hit me what a bargain that was! Where else can you have that much fun for 50 cents worth of fuel. The guy out in his speed boat is going through 30 bucks in fuel every hour. I hope he is getting as much enjoyment from his boat as I get in my V10 SD. Take care. Wrenchtraveller.
Wrenchtraveller, I got a 06 V10 but have yet to use the T/H button. Why do you hit that when getting on it
Well, The T/H mode changes your shift points, makes your shifts more agrressive and mine even stays in the same gear after you back off so it really feels like a standard the way it holds you back.
This auto "learns" your driving style and read Fred's post on how this works but I only use my T/H when I am really working the truck and it is a lot different than my regular mode. I also have read if you use T/H without working it, it becomes less agressive but you can disconnect the battery and reset it .
As I stated in an ealier post, 150 hours seems to be when these trucks really start to loosen up. Enjoy that 06 and play with the T/H a little. Your gonna love it.
