ECM Fault Codes

I have a 94 F150 4x4 Ext Cab, 302 4R70W trans. I have had an ongoing problem with low rpm and idle. The truck wants to not idle sometimes. It only happens occasionally. The truck always restarts and it may not do it again for a month or two. Very frustrating to say the least. Well I finally got around to a tune-up. New plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor button and the truck seems to be running much better until it wanted to quit idleing again today and seemed to stumble at low rpms. Condition seem to improve as I got closer to home. So I went to Advance and bought an inexpensive Actron OBDI code reader and proceeded to try and retrieve the codes. I didn't get past the KOEO test and came up with a 33 and a 133. I found the 33 as a, EGR Valve Position (EVP) sensor or Pressure Feedback EGR (PFE) sensor indicates EGR valve not opening or EGR EVP sensor or PFE sensor indicates EGR valve not seated properly. Should I replace the EGR valve or are there other test that I should try.And I have no clue as to what code 133 is. Sorry for the length of this post and thanks in advance for the help.

you cant get a 2 digit code and a three digit code. I think the 1 was the seperator pulse and what you have is a 33 in both koeo and cm.

A Haynes or Chiltons manual will help in testing the egr system. They are $12-15.00 at the parts store. It could be a stuck valve, broken vacuum line, bad evr, or bad evp. Post back if you need more help, its a fairly simple system once you learn how it works.

If you can't find the manual, post back and we can walk you thru, but the manual is a good thing to have

Thanks for the speedy response Poppa. I actually just figured out about the seperating pulse and was going to edit when I saw your post. Funny, I read the instructions but somehow missed that in the book. I have a haynes manual and will study tonight and try to repair tomorrow
