I'll try Sears or maybe pull over the next Snap-On truck I see, the local "experts" in auto parts and supplies (Lordco) as well as a local tool rental place said they need a size. It would be difficult to measure it where it is now.
You cant call those places.......the kids they got monkeying around the counter dont know squat. You should just go there and look for it.....or order it on line.
Dude where do you live that you dont have a competent auto parts place????
ANY auto parts store will have this thing. I bought mine at Kragen like 3 years ago and paid $12 I think. There are two different sizes, one is six-pronged and the other is four-pronged. You'll get raped at a shop for doing this, and you're likely to get ripped off on top of it.
Like what everyone else said, you can get them anywhere. I got mine at NAPA for $11.50. I'd say go look for it your-self, just make sure you get the four prong one.
Well thanks for the advice guys. I called the local NAPA and the the guy said he needed the size, I told him the 4 prong one, and he said "I still need the size", I said a Dana 44 hub on a 1990 full size Bronco, and he still needed the size. Sheesh, I thought Vancouver was bigger than that, we have 6 NAPA and 4 Lordco stores around here and they don't know what it is. Anyway, I'll find it, and again, thanks for your input.
heck thats crazy! just make one out of a pipe! Weld on some prongs or grind down the sides leaving 4 prongs. Or get a hamer and a punch and tap the nut sideways to get it loose, I've had to do that befor and it works.
The "size" is the smaller one. I have only seen two sockets for this application. One is for a Dana 60 (big) and the other for a Dana 44 (small). Right now Princess Auto has them on for $9.99 Canadian (I'm in Edmonton) and in their catalog they call it a 1/2 to 3/4 ton 4WD Front Wheel Bearing Locknut Tool. The part number is 8002718 and their mail order catalog number is 1-800-665-8685. They claim 2-5 business days for delivery and charge $4.80 plus taxes to ship this item. I have one that I bought from them 2 years ago and it works great.

You know, I was driving home today and went right past the "gear-head's candy store" (Princess Auto) but the traffic was so ****ty, I kept going. I'll go there tomorrow and thanks for the advice.
There are 2 nuts that sandwich a flat washer that has a tooth on it. I found after I stripped my outside threads that attach the nuts and washer...The 4 pronged tool will remove both nuts...
