The Tymar is Quality! Flat out one of the best filters you can find for our trucks. I think it looks great...and if I did'nt....Who cares anyways, its under the hood.
I connected my K&N RD1460 to the aluminum piece thats blolted to the v/v cover. No connections or clamps to buy. Fits quite nicely with the original box taken out. I'm still going to use a flatbar from the ac to the filter to prevent it from working and eventually cracking the rubber end of the filter. Total cost $60 canadian.
Well since I started the thread figured I would give an update. I installed the intake this weekend. Cost was 35.00 for 4" tubing, 41.00 for the 6637 filter, 5.00 for clamps, 19.00 for 12" of the 4" silicon tubing. For a grand total of 100.00 US
Smile on my face listening to the whistle of the turbo and the tires barking as I went to third gear PRICELESS.....hahaha
Next project is to dump the cat and muffler for straight pipe's
well guys i finally did mine but mine aint nothing fancy though still used the stock rubber flex pipe and used a piece of 3" PVC pipe with a collar on one end and put it inside the rubber hose and clamped it down, then used and yes this will sound bad but it works just like a buddy of mines does and its for a chevy but its a round K&N air filter but talk about turbo whistle alot more love it breaks the tires loose in 4th on gravel and starts fish tailin lol but got it sitting kind of in the orginal box but not quiet ill get pictures soon it aint pretty but it works though total cost for it 54 dollars the PVC pipe found it on the side of the road lol, but i do love hearing the turbo whistle alot more and can tell the difference in HP and fuel mileage among winding 4th up all the way plus dont take long to peg it out now either lol, just my input but i got mine done finally though, next on the list is downpipe then stacks boys going to love it more then too , Lance
Well fellas, i just did mine... and im sorry to say that im a little disappointed but dont get my wrong. i like it, its just that its not the whistle i thought it was going to be. i really have to rev it up in to 2500/3000 to hear her whistle.

so all in all. i guess i really cant say that im disappointed. but the whistle isnt enough! haha. but it was worth the time and the 100 bux. but thanks for all of the help guys. it was well worth it. im sure the filter mod will help me out more when i get my 4" exhaust system.
thanks sooooooooooooo much for all of the info! big help!
Mitch And also. do i need to oil my K&N filter??? or do i run it dry? i need to know. thanks guys.
I didnt read all of this thread , but are you looking for more whistle because you made a cold air intake system? If thats the case dont be dissapointed cause that wont help much. Exhaust is where you will get most of the whistle noise.
79f-250custom .... let me add something else .... If you just bought that filter new it's already oiled from the factory. You'll only have to re-oil it after washings.
