controlled by sensors inside trans--and the trans module--need to scan it and see if any codes--then go from there

Yeah I've noticed that too. My 97 shifts just beautifully when it's cold outside or if i don't let it warm up long enough, which isn't often. I've always wondered if there's a way to have it shift like that all the time.

I changed my oil and filter on the tranny. Couldn't believe the amount of mung, it was all magnetic, that came out of the filter when I rinsed it in gasoline. The oil pan magnet was totally consumed in the same mud. New oil and filter was less than $50.00. No need to buy a gasket as it was reusable. The only thing I should have done was install a drain plug so I could easily remove the oil when I do an oil change on the engine, I would replace the transmission oil in the pan so it would mix with what was in the torque converter to have a routine of new oil being added.

Yeah, you need to make sure your change the fluid. What I'm talking about (and oldblue I think) is it seems like two different shifting programs, one when warm and one when cold. Or i wonder if it's just the fluid being colder and thicker effects the shifts.

Yea , it just holds a good shift(longer) when cold. It probably does'nt help that I'm running 35 in. tires with 3.55 gears either. My 4.11's just came in a couple days ago and will go in next week.
