285s on my 03, and even when on prairie trails they don't rub! Plus they actually fill up the wheel well better than those factory 265s, if you want a better definition of too small of tires, go look at chevy HDs that come from the factory with 245s.
I have a 1999.5 4x4 with the 2" leveling and 1" extra blocks on the rear axle and I have had both 305/70 and 285/75s on the stock 16" rims. They are Pro-comp from 4 Wheel Parts. No rubbing or anything.
