I have the Banks Powerpack on my 03. I have noticed the flutter a couple of times since adding the Banks system. It sounds strange, but I never seem to hit it for any leangth of time, so It doesn't bother me.
Yes, I have the Banks Power Pack system. This system is the headers to the tailpipe and also includes a ram air intake. I also added the Banks Transcommand to the system to help the 4R100 shifts firm up.
I realy love the system. In answer to the original thread, I still have the occasional flutter, but it never realy bothered me stock and it still does not bother me now. My truck does it very infrequent.
As for the performance advantages.... I cannot say enough good about the power pack system. It is pricey for sure, although I found a sweet deal of about $1500 dollars after much hunting around. I paid the exrta $250 or so for the transcommand.
The truck pulls much better. The mileage is up about 1.5 mpg and the truck now has much more go. When loaded up with my 5er toy hauler I am at 20,000 lbs gross combined wt and it pulls this very well. Before it would work very hard on climbs and the engine fan was on a lot during heavy climbs. Now, the engine fan rarely if ever comes on and the truck motors up the steepest climbs like it is in a hurry to go somewhere. The sound is MUCH better than stock and not at all annoying. I drove a friend the truck of a friend with the power pack when mine was stock. I drove the two back to back. I new then that I just had to have one. The system greatly improves the mid-range power. If you are planning on keeping your truck for a long time than the cost is worth the added performance. If you are only a 50,000 mile than trade it kinda of guy, I dunno that I would spend this kind of money.
I am not sure where you live, but in Southern California on 6%+ mountain grades, such as the Grapevine and Cajon Pass the truck will pull my 5er fully loaded to the gills up the mountains at 60 MPH without full throttle and on 87 pump gas and no chip. I can even slow and then recover speed if a semi gets in front of me. Before the power pack, if I got slowed, I stayed slowed.
FastDEW... I just bought the PowerPack and Transcommand after reading your recent posts. It is being installed now. I should have it this afternoon. I can't wait!
The Banks Powerpack is a complete exhaust system with the EXCEPTION of the cat. The kit requires you to use the factory cat and short pipe leading into it. Other that that is a new system.
The headers deepen the sound tremedously of the V10. That with the added pipe size over stock helps too.

Great! Let us know how you like it. I am sure you will love it, especially if you tow.
It's installed and sounds much better than what I had on before. On my first drive, I didn't think it was much different especially since I had already done the y-pipe mod... then I looked down at the speed! I was going 65 in a 25... time for some brakes!!!!
I am having one problem though. The engine light came on. The code was for a lean condition in bank one. The guys unplugged and replugged all connections and it was ok again for a while and then it came back. Banks wasn't able to help.
The technician that did the installation thinks it has something to do with the extension. Does anyone have any suggestions?
By the way... I'm really looking forward to towing my camper in the spring. With the new 4.30 replacing the 3.73 and the PowerPack, it ought to be a blast!

Hmm... lean in Bank 1? Check for vacuum leaks, like the dreaded elbow in the PCV plumbing. Maybe they had the intake tubing off or something else coincidentally broke/fell off.
Then, clean the MAF - that can cause a lean condition. I cleaned mine at 20K miles (and probably 80K miles worth of air and fuel), and it was dirty enough that it made a pretty big difference in how it runs and shifts.
After that, if that doesn't fix it, come back here, start a new thread and we'll see if we can give you enough different directions to run in

You will notice a huge difference in the towing ability. I did the same mods as you, I went from 3.73 to 4.30 and also the Banks system.
As for the lean condition... I don't know, my Banks system has about 10K miles on it now without issue. I would think that it sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere. I wonder if the O2 is going bad, that could also cause it.

Good point, the O2 sensor wiring could have some resistance in it somewhere and cause what the computer thinks is "lean". Since the O2 sensors probably had to be moved to the new exhaust system, that's the first place I'd look.
I am concidering this banks set up for my 460. I am having the famous manifold leak and i hope this will fix it. banks has a life time warrenty from what i read.
