i just put on a suspension lift on my bronco and after doing so with the new angle for the driveshaft it was obvious that the u-joints went bad on my rear driveshaft (clunking). so i had took it to the machine shop and had them replaced. how do i go about reinstalling the driveshaft. is there a certain way i should put it on? i put it back on the way i took it off and now it squeals like crazy, what could i do to stop that? any advice would be appreciated
I would sugest taking the drive shaft off and checking that the ujoints are free of movement and examine them very closely for proper instalment. squeeling could mean that the person that put them in could have droped a roller pin to the bottom of the u-joint cup. If this had happen, then you will know it by the G shape pins that hold the ujoint on will not seat in the gove on one side it belongs and the cup will only be holding in because it is pressed in. If one of those pins have droped to the bottom while installing this could make a squeel. Checkthe u-joints and feel if they are hard to wiggle back and forth after you have removed the drive shaft.
