Hi all. I appreciate any help here.
Where can I find the voltage specs for adjusting a TPS on '85 F150? Or another question would be how to tell if it is bad? This truck has a manual tranny in it and the 1 barrel carb. It also appears to have some sort of Idle Air Control valve in the carb as well. Thanks in advance
Never knew they had a TPS?????? The cable just goes right to the carb and done, but since these engines are electronically advanced i guess it has to have some sort of sensor but sorry I really have no idea. Most of my carb is unplugged except for the auto choke.

Maybe Ford calls it something different, but there is a sensor mounted on the throttle shaft and it has wires coming off of it. I assumed it was a TPS.
I have the same setup. The voltage feeding the sensor should be between 4.0v and 6.0v. You can do resistance tests to check the range limits but unless you had a manual it would too hard to explain. Did you do a code check first to get you to suspect the TPS. I thought mine was bad and replaced it wasn't the problem.
Thanks for the info. Which manual are you talking about? I looked at a haynes last night and it didnt even mention the sensors....typical haynes..... If I can find one with good info that will be different.
