horse power rating

I was wondering if anybody knows the stock horsepower rating for a 68 390 or a 352 .

Which 68 ...390 ?

The X code 390 was 280

The S code 390 was 325

The Z code 390 was 315

Y code 265hp 2V
X code 280hp 2V Premium fuel
Z code 315hp 4V
S code 325hp 4V GT

No 352 in 1968.

but in 68 they still used the old way of measuring HP. so the numbers are a little inflated.

More info. I have a 54 ford truck with a 292 and I am picking up a 66 T-bird for a daily driver this week. It as the z 315hp motor in it. Are you guys saying that that is not an accurate rate and that its inflated. One last question is do the parts from a 390 ford truck motor fit on a 66 t-bird motor such as the timing chaing cover? Thanks
