interest rate
Rates are set on a regional basis. For instance, the APR in Minneapolis and Chicago are the same, since they are the same region. Typically, Ford Credit rates are a little higher than banks/credit unions, etc. unless there is a special promotion.
Ford Credit will set the base rate for the dealer, but the dealer has the option of marking this rate up to a higher percentage rate. If they do that, they get the difference between the base rate and the rate they wrote the loan at. So, If the base rate is 7.75% through ford credit, and the dealer writes the loan at 9.75%, the dealer makes that extra 2%. Otherwise the dealer makes $200 flate rate to write loan. Now keep in mind that dealers usually have many options for financing (other banks). The best is to check with you bank or credit union and find out what the rate is. Take that rate to the dealer and they can usually match or beat it.
Also keep in mind that rate depends on your credit rating. The best credit history gets the best rates.
Hope that helps clear it up.

Exactly!!! My bank was 7.94% and my dealer said they'd match it. Still got $2000 in rebates AND 300 over on a Super Duty. Couldn't be happier.
I just pickup my 2002 Ford 250 4x4 yesterday and As of 9-21-2001 ford was offering 4.9% APR. I live in West Texas and I Know they go by Regions for Incentives but also at the same time i got a 1000 dollars Rebate on the 2002 for turning in a Dodge.
So hope this Helps.
