I think so too. I've been doing some research on that part and the failure symptoms seem to be pretty much what this van is doing. Getting that code seals the deal in my opinion.
I'll replace the sensor and let you know if it fixes the problem.
Well, the Tranny Range Sensor didn't fix the problem. It is MUCH MUCH better, but it still has some hesitation between gears at anything below about 25% throttle- anything above 25% throttle and it shifts fine, whereas it did not before this new range sensor. I rescanned it and the Range Sensor DTC came up again, so something else must be able to trigger that code.
I think maybe I'll replace the TPS. My local junkyard has a bazillion 4.0L Fords, so I think I'll pull a used one and see what happens.
Any other suggestions? What about the shift cable? Is there any adjustment on that cable? And if so, could it be causing this problem- keeping in mind that it's only a partial-throttle issue?
