URGENT. where does the code reader plug in?

1998 explorer, can't find where to plug in code reader, please help!

Underneath your steering wheel down by your knees there should be a hole. That's the cover to where the plug is. Just pull the cover out of the way and there you go.

Found it right where you said it was but my code reader is for EEC IV and doesn't fit

Yeah, on the '97 you'll need an OBD II reader.
