Switchable Fluid

Getting ready to make my 5x40 SHell Rotella T synthetic switch for cold weather. Can I switch back to 15w40 in teh summer or do i have to STAY synthetic for now on

u can switch but u don't need to...that's the beauty of syn.

Ok. But for $$$ in the summer, it wont hurt anything though right?

Right... But....when u change your oil there is always about 20-25% still left behind in the HPOP system. Don't think it will hurt...but not totally sure.

"It is an interesting fact that HEUI engines don’t drain completely of oil at change time. About 25% of the motor oil in a PowerStroke does not drain out when you change the oil because it stays captive in the high-pressure oil system and cylinder head galleries."
