engine swap
Hi! I have a 87 XLT 4X4 Bronco with a bad engine and trans and a 87 E-150 with a good engine and trans. Both are 5.0's. Outside of the oil pan can the van's parts go in the Bronco. The machanic where they are said the motors are different, but to look at them they look identical. Please help. P.S. I think he is trying to get me to junk them so he can use them. Help me fast PLEASE!

Everything that I have shows the physical block & heads, pistons & heads even camshafts are the same. The manifolds,throttle body,sensors etc. might need to be changed though. I'd call my fave FORD dealer and ask them if the part #s are the same for remanufactured engines though. That would be your best bet to eliminate mixups.
