95 Mazda 2.3L with Code 1359

I checked the codes on the truck today with my superchips programmer and I knew the codes for the Oxygen sensors were there but I also got a 1270 and a 1359.

I figure the 1270 was thrown the other day when I down shifted from 5-2 with a car all over my butt.

The 1359 shows as a spark output circuit fault. Since this is the 2.3 with 8 spark plugs and two different coil packs can just the exhaust side be bad. I have been slacking on power (somewhat) and the mileage has dropped from 25-26 PMG to 22-23 range. I drive this truck over 550 miles a week to and from work. Good thing is all highway from driveway to exit ramp and back gate of plant.

Will a Snap-on scanner where you can watch the engine functions be able to show if it is one bank or the other. (wife's uncle has one)

Thank you for any input.

Anthony

Turn switch on diagnostic cable to SPOUT OPEN.
Use DI overlay on breakout box.
DVOM on 40 volt AC scale.
Run engine and measure voltage between J10 (SPOUT) and J7 (B-).
Is voltage between 3.0 and 8.5 volts AC?
Yes No
REPLACE ICM. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. COMPLETE PCM Reset to clear DTCs (REFER to Section 2A, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Reset ). RERUN Quick Test . GO to JG64 .

JG64 CHECK FOR SPOUT OPEN IN HARNESS
Key off.
Disconnect PCM.
Disconnect diagnostic harness ICM tee from ICM only; leave ICM tee connected to vehicle harness.
DVOM on 200 ohm scale.
Measure resistance between Pin 50 (SPOUT) of the EEC vehicle harness connector and J10 (SPOUT) at the breakout box.
Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?
Yes No
REPLACE PCM. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. COMPLETE PCM Reset to clear DTCs (REFER to Section 2A, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Reset ). RERUN Quick Test . SERVICE SPOUT open in harness between PCM and ICM. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. COMPLETE PCM Reset to clear DTCs (REFER to Section 2A, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Reset ).
