New Ride
Well, it's been about two weeks so I figure I'll go ahead and show off my new wheels! I've been researching for months and searching and found a truck listed in Bedford, OH. after driving over and doing a thorough inspection and test drive, I decided to pull the trigger. It's an '05 F350 6.0L XLT CCLB Fx4 off-road package.
It is a one owner truck, lower mileage (139k), low engine hours, very clean Pennsylvania truck. Manual transfer case, black leather interior. EOT/ECT deltas are around 5 degrees, FICM Voltage is 48+, HPOP is good, no oil leaks, good power, good boost, absolutely no white/black smoke, no degas bottle overflow or oil in the coolant.
It hasn't been bulletproofed, but it has been well maintained. The manual had maintenance records, all kept on schedule, and the previous owners were a husband and wife, so less likely that it was being hot-rodded and tuned by some kid. Given that, and the data I was seeing in the TorquePro app, I'm more comfortable with it not being bulletproofed. But still, I got a two year warranty with the truck to be safe.
I started a second job at UPS this summer, so I was in a decent position to buy a newer truck. I took my time to find exactly what I wanted. I drive roughly 200 miles a week commuting to and from work (roughly 40mi/day), plus trips up to my girlfriend's parents and home to Dayton. I'd also say that between 75-90% is at highway speeds.
The more I drive it, the more I love it! It gets much better mileage than my V10, using about 1/3 less fuel, which is definitely nice. I don't mind the higher maintenance costs, because those costs are less frequent than filling up. In addition to the routine maintenance, my first plan is to do the coolant filter, then EGR delete. Other than that, I'm pretty content with staying stock.
And what is a new truck thread without some pictures?

Thanks! I can't wait until the next ohio meet to show it off! How do I read EGTs and fuel pressure? I think I read somewhere that extra sensors need to be added? Also, torque pro doesn't seem to read transmission temp. Maybe the equation is entered wrong?
Also, what kinds of fuel additives do people prefer? I'm sure that can turn into a gas vs diesel debate, but I'm not opposed to trying different things. I just want to try reputable stuff that I won't be wasting my money on. Two that I was looking at we're a jug of stanodyne or XDP additives.
