64 econoline pu
Does anyone out there have any info. on putting power steering & power brakes on a stright axle 64 ford econoline pu.Im restoring one and putting a 5.0 engine in it p/s &p/b would be great. If anyone could help that would be great THANKS

i can only think of one with power steering on it. it is in a museum in utah, seems like it has a toyota power box.
brakes can be had from one of the brake kit suppliers, power booster must be reeeaaallll small to clear everything.

Easy....use a remote power booster, get at any good rod shop. It's a boatload of work, but it can be done. as for P/S...you can use the control unit off an early mustang/falcon....Also a lot of work but doable. I have seen a late model type p/s gearbox..with a custom column. As far as I know there is no book on how to do it, just use you common sense. Disk brakes are available from many suppliers. MP, ECI, both can fix you up with all your braking needs. Check out any Street Rodder Mag for info.

My may try searching in the 61-66 truck forum, one of the guys there had pictures of how to install the Toyota box on a 61-64 straight axle. It mounted side ways on the frame so that the pitman arm can move forward and backwards.
