I'm Joe and this is my second post.

I'm from Chicago and I'm new to Fords. I just bought a 65 Econoline 6 door panel van with a 170/3spd, but am collecting parts to drop in a 300. It will serve as a parts hauler and band equipment hauler.

Also in my fleet is a 59 Chevy Bel Air custom, a 50 Chevy Fleetline (mostly stock), and a 48 Chevy Fleetmaster coupe project.

Hey, Joe, welcome.

I also have a '65 6 door van with the 170/3spd. Please let me know when you have that 300 installed because I may want to do the same.

Thanks!

I'm just collecting parts, but it seems like a fairly straightforward swap. I compiled all the swap wisdom from the Old Econolines Yahoo group and posted it to their files section.

Basically, you need a ton of parts from a 240 van. Since you have a 65, you're ahead of the game since the 65-7 vans had bigger dogboxes to accomodate the 240, which is the same size as the 300.
