The other day I responded to a post by Tomsservices by denigrating California and her citizens. My comments were out of line and I apologize to all who read them. I realize this forum should be about Ford trucks, but this is where I popped off, so this is where I need to apologize.
On another note, thanks to all of you who have helped me sort out problems on my '67 F250 over the past month since I bought it. Last night someone ran a red light and totaled my truck. My son was driving and walked away without a scratch. If I can't find another old Ford F-Series to buy and work on, this may be the last you hear of me.
Glad to hear that your son was OK. I know you hated to see your truck get crashed, but if your son was going to have a wreck he couldn't have picked a better vehicle to be in when it happened. I can testify to the safety of the old ford trucks. My freshman year of college I was driving my Dad's 71 Ranger shortbed when a big rig decided he wanted his lane and mine too. My truck bounced off of his three times, and finally ended up against the guardrail. There was such a mess that both lanes of I-24 heading towards Nashville were shut down for nearly 4 hours. I twisted the steeering wheel like a pretzel and slightly sprained my wrist, but was otherwise unhurt. The first trooper to arrive commented that he couldn't believe nobody got hurt. My normal transportation at that time was a Pontiac Fiero so I can only imagine what would have happened if I had been in my car instead of my dad's truck. The truck was a total loss, but we found another one and used the one I wrecked as a parts truck. Hopefully you will be able to do the same. Good Luck.
