I just bought a superchips micro tuner for my v-10 F-250 and I'd like to know if you can change back and forth between the performance programs. Like from max performance back to tow performance or back to max 87 octane performance and vice versa?
I have one also, and you can change between programs. I run mine on 87 octane tune most of the time, except when I set it for tow performance to tow my toy hauler.
On the 87 octane program, I lower the thift points from the standard 10 mph over stock to five mph over stock because 10 over stock is too far past the peak hp/torque curves.
I would like to know what kind of improvements you guys are seeing with the super tunners. I have been looking at getting a bigger camper and think I may need to up the power a little. I am not shure how well they work and if they are worth the $$$? Can they be set up for diff driving conditions? And how so?
I know that is allot of questiond and I dont meen to hijack this thread I just figured you guys would know.
I really can't be much help as of yet. I just installed the performance program today and took it out for a short spin. I did notice that the truck seemed to pull alot stronger throughout the entire rev range. I really like the firmer shifts and the higher shift points. I don't tow very much so I installed the performance program. I like it so far.I'll report back later and let you know about MPG and such. Monday I'll be doing the Y-pipe exchange and then I'll see what kind of difference that'll make in addition to the reprogram.
check out the web site www.sctflash.com and veiw what they offer now and what the excal2 will be able to do shortly. also check out their dealer locater for a shop near you to help in getting the most for what you want to do. i have found this tuner to be the best on the market right now for a ford.
