Roll over valve
I odered a new gas tank today, they asked me if mine had a roll over valve, what is it? I told them I guess not, I didnt know what it was and neither did they.

I would guess they are talking about a one way check ball that closes off the fuel filler tube when the vehical rolls over.And like mil1ion kinda said ford didnt start using them on tanks until around 1985 when they started using electric fuel pumps.It also makes them siphon proof.I know our trucks dont have one because.Befor I got a lock cap someone had no problem siphoning my gas out.

I think Tim is right about the ball valve stopping fuel flow after roll over, however, that would not prevent siphoning becasue you're talking about two different things. One is a ball valve in the fuel pick up and the other is the fuel fuel filler hose.
