I have a 1984 Ford F250 with a rebuilt 351 Windsor and I wanted to know what kind of 4 barrel carburetors would work. I have already found a 4 barrel intake.
I replaced my 1984 351 HO Holley with another Holley...Street Avenger 670...and I'm happy with the performance. Er, I should say I had the carb replaced...but, I'm still happy.
Search for Edelbrock/Holley....you'll get more than you want.
I bought an Edelbrock 750CFM for my truck and it's good and bad. I put an Edelbrock on my 72 Ventura II and fell in love with it. But every now and then, the 750 in my truck goes all goofy on me. The choke works half-arsed, it loads up on me from time to time, etc. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably go with a Holley Truck Avenger.
I had the 750cfm edelbrock on mine and it was too much carb. I sold it and bought a 600cfm remanufactured edelbrock from summit and could not be happier.
I'm putting a Holley 650cfm Double Pumper on my MerCruiser 302. I've heard that 600 is what they came with originally. Of course, i can get away with a bigger carb because the engine i have has been slightly tweaked and i'm running headers along with a manual transmission, hopefully a 5 speed manual that i may have got a deal put through on. Anyways, i'm a Holley fan, previous owner of the engine had a Edelbrock on it. One thing you need to know how to do is set the carb up right, the mixture settings, float settings etc.....
