Ford Carburetor
I have a 1977 ford f150 4wd with a true 400 modified (not 351 stroke) and my carb is bad. But today I have come across a autolite 2100 two barrel carburetor from a old mustang. Will this carburetor work with my engine? the markings on the side say g5af on the side. Im not sure if autolite 2100s are made in different sizes or not

See how it runs with it on there first with new plugs in it aswell. Drive it for a day or two and pull the plugs and check. Then that will tell you if you need to richen it up some or a lot. Chances are it came from a 302 so you might wanna try 4 sizes bigger as a ball park range. You can also do a full throttle test. Get on a straight road and get up to about 50 mph and put it to the floor. As your building speed slowly let off, if you pick up speed faster rejet bigger.

Last year for 2100 series 2V: 1974 / No such thing as G5AF, it's C5AF / With an carb ID tag number prefix of C5AF .. the carb is from a 1965/66 Ford/Merc Passenger Car.
The carb kit is the same for ALL 1962/74 Passenger Car/Truck, 1966/74 Bronco, 1969/74 Econoline Auto-Lite/Motorcraft 2100 2V's = D4AZ-9A586-A replaced C2AZ-9A586-A & B (Motorcraft CT-499-D).
1975/79 F100/350's, Bronco's and Econolines came with 2150 Motorcraft 2V's. There are FIVE! different carb kits, the carb ID tag number is required to get the correct kit.
There is no such thing as a "true 400 modified" aka 400M. FoMoCo never referred to the 400 as such, just plain 'ol 400.
351M (M = Modified) = 1975/79 misc FoMoCo Passenger Cars, 1977/79 F100/350, 1978/82 Bronco, 1980/82 F150/350.
400 = 1971/79 misc FoMoCo Passenger Cars, 1977/79 F100/350, 1978/82 Bronco, 1980/82 F150/350.
All 1973/79 FoMoCo vehicles came with PCV and EGR valves as both were mandated by the US Gov't. Some also came (especially CA vehicles) with the Evaporative Emission System and T/E = Thermactor Emission aka smog pump.
Cat converters introduced in 1977 F100/350's, Bronco's and Econolnes. It all depended on specific state emission laws if 1977/79's came with a cat ot not.
If your truck has no emissions related parts what-so-ever, parts were removed by-a-previous-owner. Thank your lucky stars you don't live in CA!!

Go to the local parts house and get some jets they are about 2 bucks a set. I'll try to get my stock 2150 apart and see what size jets are in it. Have you measured the manifold yet to see if it will work? If it works then run it and rejet to a factory setting, then tweak from there to get it running right.
