Hey, guy's and gals,
I've got a problem with a slow coolant leak coming from my 351m just below where the rad hose connects to the engine(not from the hose)any help would be appreciated.

Sound like you need a new thermostat gasket. Be prepared they are expensive.......probably about $3 or so

actually I'm thinking it's a new water pump or seal so I'm going to get that checked.

No it's not the water pump by the way you describe the location.
Sounds more like what Sparky said. A water pump would leak slow at first and would reveal itself as a puddle on the ground about a hundred miles from home.. Coolant but the thermostant housing suggests a housing gasget. What I do is change it and put lots of gasget goo on the gasget. I had one changed once that leaked. I have never had a gasget leak that was coated with gasget goo.

It's really pretty simple if the leak is from the upper radiator hose it's from the thermostat housing. From the lower hose, it's from the water pump.
