High Pressure Crossover - no change

I thought I had a cackle, and what sounded like an injector clicking. Installed the HPX today, and nothing changed. Maybe it wasn't cackle, and maybe it was a lifter. It quiets down after warmup. Maybe there will be some longer term benefits. I used the solid stainless line, so I don't expect leak problems.

Possibly poor oil flow through the HPX line until the oil warms up enough to freely flow through it. Are you using 15W-40 or 5W-40? and how cold is it right now where you live. If you're using the 15W-40 and it's cold, oil's probably not flowing very freely through the HPX line.

Why would the HPX have any bearing on a loud injector or cackle. There shouldn't much flow through the HPX, it's just a balance tube that allows the ICP sensor to "see" the rail pressure in both heads.

the HPX wont cure cackle and injector knock. well, maybe some injector knock, it is quieting the injector some by equalizing pressure between the oil galleys. it is designed to quiet overall engine noise and make a smoother tone. i notice faster startups too.

EDIT- server was busy, and i tried to reply at 9:29, and it was "too busy" so i came back at 10 and i forgot i still had this reply. sorry it was basically what Scott said.

I know when I put the HX hose on my truck, The Cackle, injector noise or what ever that My engine had, more or less went away. My wife was amazed at the difference.

In addition to what u folks have stated my impression of one of the attributes of a HPxline is a sort of shock absorber for the HPOP system. i get this from the two comparison graphs at the ITP website.

I understand.... mine smoothed out some also, you just used terms that I don't typically associate with the HPX. Cackle and idle knock are fuel issues.

That's a handy description of a balance tube. A fluid system shock absorber.

I thought part of the injector noise issue was #6 injector fireing just before #8 and the HX line helping to maintain the high pressure oil in that area?

the reason you can get a cackle from #8 is more do to a shortage of fuel than oil

Ok I'll buy that. But it sure made a BIG difference in the noise level on my truck. Then she should damn near sound like a gasser, when I get my fuel mods installed.

Go to WWW.KCMDIESELPERFORMANCE.COM $60.00 and free shipping. Took me about an hour to install. They include full instructions. Do not try to remove the air hose to the turbo. Find a 5/8 wrench that goes under it to take out the plug and tighten the fittings.
