I have a bad connector on the positive cable on my first battery. This is made on the cable itself. Has anyone tried cutting the cable and putting on ends like a boat battery? Where would you get another cable besides Ford? I better that would cost a few $$$.
I was wanting something a little beefier. Don't want it heating up from the load, although most is in starting and it has been loose for a while.
There are several types of replacement ends out there. Or you can buy a "premade" cable - just measure the old one, and buy one the same length, same wire size or heavier. Most autoparts stores sell them.

I've thought about the marine style. We have a crimper to put those style ends on the cable. If I can find a big enough piece for the battery, that is what I will probably do.
