hard brakes

I have a 77 f250 with power brakes. they stop just fine, but are really hard to depress. I assume this is a vacuum assist problem, and I need to replace/rebuild the booster. Can I buy a rebuild kit, or do I need to go to a junk yard/catalog for a complete assembly?

My 73 camper spec had a hard pedal. See if you have a "linkage" from the brake pedal to the booster. Should be visible under hood-behind booster. Mine seized, and had to take booster off to get freed up. My experience. good luck.
