I have a 05 f250, I have a King cobra enclosed trailer-new. The interior lights do not work when pluged into the trailer. The trailer place said that there is an assesory fuse that ford does not put in, does anybody know where it is located. There is nothing stated in the manual.
the owner had to add some fuses and relays to 2001 and older trucks for everything to work. yours should be ready to go and you shouldnt need to add anything.
The 05 should be ready to go atleast mine was.My 01 I had to had the relay and fuse under the hood to get trailer power. Might check there maybe someone wanted yours more than you did.

Ask the trailer place where the interior trailer lights get their power from - if it's the marker light circuit, then you have to have the running lights on. If it's from the battery charge circuit (should be), then the ignition has to be on.
I have the same problem with my 05 F250. I have to have the ignition on in order for the trailer interior lights to work.
It's not a problem, it's a feature. Keeps the trailer from discharging the tow vehicles battery when not running- you wouldn't want to be stranded somewhere with a dead battery ......

Not sure on this!!!! If she pretty enough and doesn't believe the "out of gas line"!!! Sorry, just had to throw that one, gotta go, going to hook up my trailer and go trolling!
I posted something like this in the trailer tow section. It was brought up to take out the relay and jumper the connections together to make the charge wire on all the time. Yes you need to be careful not to leave the lights on in the trailer but that is the chance you take.
