I have an 1993 F-150 two door extended cab. The problem is that I have a JL-300/4 amp that I need to put in the truck, but dont have enough clearance to put it under the back seat.I have checked behind the backseat also,no room.Try'ed to fit it under the passenger seat, no room there either. I dont want to mount it in the floor directly behind the seats because it will be exposed to whoever looks in the cab.I don't know if ford makes a ''backseat-adapter'' for this year vehical so i can raise the seat for clearance. Does anyone have any ideas for my truck ? Can anyone post pics showing a solution for this ? thanks.
Fordboy----- The passenger side seat has a bar that runs to each side of the channel tracks . The seat will have to be raised or the bar removed. I'm hoping that someone here has found a solution and will share it . I really want to put the amp under the back bench if only i can get enough clearance.
i have seen people use a small 4x4 of steel to raise the seats (put holes in it to mount) and then the amp will fit. I would not recommend this as it shortens the head room for passengers. another thing i have seen is mounting the amp in a tool box. my friend used to have his amps all in his tool box, then they were out of the cab. its actually easier then u think with a few steps u can make it work well
yes= I had given the thought about mounting it in a tool box but i think i will fashion a couple of mounting plates and put them under the bench seat as I will have to raise it about 1/2 inches to get the clearance I need.I cant raise the back of the seat because of the mounting clip on the back wall of the truck cannot be moved.
Pyro Bob--- Did you not mount your amp under the bench because it made the flipover flat side uneven if you had chose to raise the bench??? I am seriously considering raising my bench using washers as I never flip my seat over to utilize the flat part.

There was no way to raise my bench, unfortunately.
I could have raised the bottom, however the top set flush back into a slot. My largest problem was that people occasionaly sat back there. Is your rear seat two pieces or one? Mine was two, and with the way it sat, I couldn't raise the rear part.

Pyrobob--- My seat can be raised about one inch by putting washers under the nut.it is a two piece seat. I really don't think that raising it one inch will affect the use of the seatbelts. I could also raise the backrest about 1/2 inch if I can figure out a way to make the latch work.
Hmm...is one inch enough extra for your amp to fit? If it is, I would go for that. My amp is almost 3" thick, so I would have needed a little more lift. I did manage to use the space underneath the seat for mounting four of my crossovers (4" x 6" x 1").
The way everything fits, it would still be safe for any passenger, as long as the belts come through.
One thing I did find, which you shouldn't have to worry about, is that when I flipped the seat over to the deck, I wound up with some heat issues.
