black smoke help

Just got a 6 pos chip. put it in and on fuel 7 no smoke. Not even a puff. Do some smoke and others like me don't. Just curious. I know black smoke is unburn fuel. Still would be cool to have some.

First and foremost, do you feel a power difference? If you can't really tell, I would say you didn't clean the conections on the pcm good enough. I you really feel a difference, then some how you are actually pushing enough air into the motor to clear the smoke. But usually that's not gonna be the case with a stock turbo set up. I would say that you didn't get the pcm clean enough to even get it to act funny like some people do. Other than that I'm not sure. Some people only get some of the pins clean and it causes the truck to do funny things like not start etc. That would be where I would start.

Gator-

Our stock injectors are very small so black smoke is gonna be hard to come by. Fuel 7 is known for its advanced timeing which helps to clear up the smoke, i bet if you had a chip with stock timeing it would prob smoke more. Edge evolution made the most smoke with stock injectors for me. Im with rubberduck on this one, if ya dont feel a power difference when changing to diff programs then chances are your chip isnt seated on the contacts or the switch isnt making contact with the chip board.

Rubberduck-
Our stock turbo when coupled with the right stuff is more than enough to clear up 400+ hp. I had stage 2's and stock turbo at 33-35 psi completely cleared up the smoke when it spooled. So our turbo is very capable when the right mods are purchased

I clean the contacts nothing really changed. If I keep my foot steady on the pedel and go from postion 5 to 6. I can feel a boost in power. So I guess it's good. RubberDuck from spicewood Isn't that were Willie Nelson had some of his family picnics.

huh my ts chip smokes pretty good but i also got a 5 speed...it really smokes in my dads 5 speed cali truck...so you say its working??? are you sure?

Prutty sure. Had different chip in before truck was faster with a 90hp setting, but I plan on getting injectors thought this chip would be better for that. Nice truck. I get about that amount of smoke. thanks
